Politics in the New Year 2023
You might think the elections are over, but we have two big votes coming up this month–(one of them is tomorrow)! These votes will have a huge impact on the trajectory of the Republican Party–and of the country.
But before we get into votes that can solve some of our problems, let’s talk about the problem itself.
“The immediate threat facing the nation is the fact that the people no longer govern the country; instead, the government itself is increasingly weaponized against the people it is mean to serve. Instead of fulfilling their intended purpose of keeping the American people safe, they are hard-wired now to keep the regime in power.” (Russ Vought, Citizens for Renewing America)
This month, we have the chance to send a loud message to DC: We know the threat and we want to ADDRESS the threat. We do NOT want to continue business as usual.
Vote One: Speaker of the House (January 3, 2023)
We’ve won the House by a pathetic margin and tomorrow our Reps in Congress will cast a vote for the next Speaker. The “heir apparent” is Kevin McCarthy, a go-along-to-get-along (go along to get ahead, really) who, “made it clear that he is unwilling to meaningfully change the rules and challenge the status quo in Washington,” according to Matt Rosendale.
While McCarthy served as minority leader, he could have led the fight to remove “the radical ‘climate justice’ language in the infrastructure spending bill or vaccination mandates in the defense budget. Instead, he squandered every opportunity to protect Americans from woke policies … If Kevin McCarthy couldn’t lead in the minority, he doesn’t have the ability to serve as the speaker of the House. We need a speaker who is strong enough to get things done with a Democrat-controlled White House and who can unite the Republican Party.” (Read full article here.)
The new Speaker will need to:
- Return the House to a functioning legislative body: Instead of allowing 9 “hand picked members of the Rules Committee to dictate every step of the legislative process.”
- Realign Our Budget: Whip the vote for a sensible fiscal plan that stops funding the woke agencies and nonprofits that have been weaponized and dispatched against the American people. Instead, we need to fund growth in the fields of energy and economic growth. (Read the sensible solution here)
- Reform Our Agencies: The Speaker must have the courage to call for an independent, Church-style Committee to investigate our rogue (treasonous?) bureaucracies.
CALL TO ACTION
I’m asking you to PLEASE, right now, contact your Representative in Congress and tell him/her that you want a NO VOTE on McCarthy. We need a Speaker who will fight hard against our weaponized government. McCarthy has shown he does not have the ability to fight on our behalf and protect our liberties.
Then share this CTA with all of your email lists, groups, and Signal channels.
Sample Script: “Hello, my name is [NAME] from [County]. I do not want McCarthy to be the next Speaker of the House. McCarthy has shown he is more interested in protecting the status quo and the Establishment Cartel rather than the freedoms and liberties that is the birthright of all Americans. Since you are my Representative in DC, I’m asking you to represent me by voting NO on McCarthy.
Vote Two: New Chair for the RNC
Ronna McDaniel has been the Chair of the RNC for the past since 2017. The niece of Mitt Romney, Ronna has been Chair as Republicans were eviscerated in California, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona and more. This is another example of the GOP doing business as usual to protect their fiefdom rather than using its political capital to defend liberty.
Only 168 votes determine who will become the next chair of the RNC: the two committee members of your state and also the Chair of the Party in your state. For Florida, that is Joe Gruters (Chair), Kathleen King (Committeewoman) and Peter Feaman (Committeeman). While we as individuals don’t “have a vote,” we can pressure our County REC Board members to tell our State Officials how we want them to vote. To that end, I’m asking you to please contact your REC Chair, ViceChair, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Members and tell them you want them to contact Gruters, King and Feaman to vote NO on McDaniel and YES on Harmet Dhillon.
And who is Harmet Dhillon? I’m glad you asked.
Dhillon recognizes the problem within the Party and has a solution–and a proven track record of possessing the tenacity to see the challenge through to success. We cannot continue doing the same old, same old within the Republican Party. We are losing our country for a lack of leadership and vision. We must replace these two McFailures: McCarthy and McDaniel.
