Pornographic Books

There was a buzz going around about inappropriate books in the schools. Parents from Sarasota, Dade, and Brevard Counties were showing up at school board meetings asking for these books to be removed. Typical response from the boards, “We don’t have those things in our schools!” After bringing the books physically to the meetings and reading passages out loud, these parents were shut down, escorted out, and told how rude they were for reading such filth publicly.

Is this for real? Could this be happening??

It certainly would not happen in our Manatee County schools!!

It became my mission to see if we had any of these pornographic books in our schools. To my utter shock we did have them in our school libraries.  

  1. Do the children need to have access to this outside of the home or adult supervision and without any guidance of explanation?
  2. Why is this being promoted in the schools?
  3. Who authorized and purchased these kinds of books for the schools?
  4. Did the Principle’s know these books are in their schools under their watch?
  5. Remember during Covid the District said they could take care “Better Care” of your children….
