Superintendent
Semi Finalists
Whether you have children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or neighbors in the Manatee schools this affects YOU!!
The search for a new Superintendent has been in the works. As we have seen over the last two years nothing is off the table for shock factor and they ARE COMING AFTER OUR KIDS!!! This is WHY it is so important that we have the CORRECT LEADERSHIP for our schools. This impacts our community. These are the children of the next generation who will be in Leadership, our Elected Officials and running our Communities. We MUST be involved, participate and watchful over how and what our children are being taught and managed while they are in the schools 8 hrs a day! We see we cannot trust the “Experts.”

Whats next in the process
- Each Board Member gave 1 question equaling 5 total that will be given to these 12 semi final candidates.
- The candidate will take those 5 questions and answer them with a personal video and in written form. This task will be submitted back by April 21st for the board to then review them over the weekend.
- Then another process of elimination will occur and those chosen will enter into the finalist round.
- A in person face to face interview will happen on May 10 -11th with all Board Members.
- The consultant firm will supply the board with news articles and other data collected on the applicants along with the Board doing their own research and due diligence.
- Once the final candidates are picked they will now go through a background check by the consultant firm FSBA. Any red flags that might appear the FSBA will immediately notify the Board.
- Here is the timeline posted on the District website.
These were suggestions from the Consultant
Number 4 and 10 were commented on by the Board as to what the reason was to not ask about arrests or children. The consultants say that an arrest could have been 10 years ago and no longer on their record and applicant might possibly not be able to have children. But the good news is if the applicant brings up the subject the board can then ask them to elaborate and continue the conversation.
